Interested in participating in the Plant the Moon Challenge but need of financial support for your students’ registration fees? We have multiple available funding opportunities for formal and informal educators alike.

Space Grant Consortium Funding

We are proud to partner with NASA Space Grant Consortiums in various states to support prospective teams in funding their projects. If you and your team reside in one of the supported states, you can apply for Space Grant support from your respective state.

For the Fall 2024 Season, the following states will be accepting applications: Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, and Rhode Island.

Applications for funding will open in July.

CTE Funds

The Plant the Moon Challenge is a great opportunity for understanding and implementing scientific concepts. Because of the STEM connection PTMC also qualifies for CTE funding to help support teams taking part in the challenge. Following is more information on CTE funds and some quick guidance on securing this funding to help you Plant the Moon. It is important to note that CTE funding is for high school and post-secondary students.

Local Sponsorship

The Plant the Moon Challenge is a great chance for businesses and organizations to support local students, highlight support for their communities, and reach more potential customers. Teams that need outside funding are encouraged to consider garnering local sponsorships to support their participation in the PTMC. The following information provides guidance on securing sponsorship for your teams and how the PTMC management can help with special sponsor benefits.
